MISSION COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE PRIEST House for Duty (Based in Broadhembury)
Closing date for applications: 26th February 2019
Interview date: 21st March 2019
This post is for an Associate Priest as part of the team in the Dunkeswell Mission Community with particular responsibility for the parishes of St Andrew’s Broadhembury and St. John the Baptist Plymtree, just 4 miles apart in East Devon. Our Mission Community has grown over recent years and we are seeking a priest who is called to Rural Ministry to work with our Rector. Our six parishes are based on quite different communities in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Blackdown Hills.
- The post is for the equivalent of 2 days a week plus Sunday services.
- We are looking for someone who can embrace village life, enjoy being part of a team and who will encourage engagement with the Diocesan vision. (https://exeter.anglican.org/who-we-are/vision-strategy )
- Both parishes have Church of England combined infant and primary schools. Both schools were graded outstanding in SIAMS inspections in 2018 – we hope to find a priest who enjoys ministry with families and children.
- Though different in character both parishes enjoy the broad centre ground of the Church of England and are open to new styles of worship.
