In Plymtree the predominately dry weather during the second half of April continued throughout May with any rainfall totals recorded being generally small. The total rainfall I measured for the month was 31.3mm. The average (1981-2010) at Dunkeswell Airfield is 72.3mm. This means that we received only 43% of the Dunkeswell average. The very wet March, with 225% of average, making the spring total overall above average. There were only 6 rain days (rainfall ≥ 1mm), which compares to an average of 11.3 days for Dunkeswell. The highest temperature I recorded during May was 26.9°C on the 7th.
