Weather Report – November and Autumn 2017

In Plymtree November 2017 was quite uneventful when compared to November 2016. There were several mild wet days, although rainfall totals were not significant, but also some drier colder periods. The total rainfall I measured for the month was 54.0mm. The average (1981-2010) at Dunkeswell Airfield is 115.9mm. This means that we received only 47% of the Dunkeswell average compared to 127% in 2016. The total autumn (Sep, Oct and Nov) rainfall I recorded was 177.0mm which compares to an average of 315.1mm at Dunkeswell or only 56% of average. The wettest day of November was the 22nd with 10.5mm. There were 10 rain days (rainfall ≥ 1mm), which compares to an average of 14.8 days for Dunkeswell. The highest temperature I recorded during November was 15.0°C on the 22nd. The lowest temperature, -4.0°C was recorded on the 29th. The strongest wind during November occurred during the early evening of the 22nd when a gust of 39.6mph was recorded.
