Weather Report – June 2015
In Plymtree during June there was a good deal of dry settled weather and although the nights were often cool there were several warm days especially during the second half of the month. The total rainfall I measured for the month was only 26.1mm. The average (1981-2010) at Dunkeswell Airfield is 66.0mm. This means that we received only 40% of the Dunkeswell average and now the 5th month in a row with below average rainfall. Total rainfall I’ve measured for the first six months of 2015 is 315.7mm which is 65% of the Dunkeswell average. The wettest day of the month was the 12th with 10.0mm. There were only 5 rain days (rainfall ≥ 1mm), which compares to an average of 9.2 days for Dunkeswell. The highest temperature I recorded during June was 28.9°C on the 30th. There were several nights when the temperatures fell below 10°C. The lowest temperature, 2.4°C was recorded on the 7th. The strongest wind during June occurred during the early evening of the 1st when a gust of 32.7mph was recorded by Pete Draper at Normans Green.
