Plymtree Fayre 2011
Plymtree Fayre 2011 was held in perfect weather conditions, dry but not too hot.
The Horse Show commenced at 9.00am, entries a little down on last year but enjoyed by all who participated. The cars continued rolling in all morning and by 2.00pm the car park was nearly full. the Hog Roast, BBQ, Bar and Refreshment Tent kept the visitors fed and watered, and they mingled around the craft, book, bric-a-brac, produce, plant and tombola stalls looking for bargains.
The Flower and Produce show had a high standard of 244 entries, and the vintage cars - the pride and joy of their owners - were admired by many. The fun Dog show was again well subscribed and gave the judge some very difficult decisions to make deciding the prizewinners. The children had great fun on the Mickey Mouse slide, the trampolines, bouncy castle, climbing wall, the newly installed permanent children's playground and the children's games stall.
The main ring entertainment got underway with the wobbly bike. After a demonstration by David Grandfield spectators were invited to have a try. None succeeded as well as David. The afternoon's entertainment then went on with the big bale rolling competition, The Sammy B street dancers, the village Samba dancers, the human Cannon, dog agility, The Grand Draw, and the finale, the famous Plymtree Eggathon.
A big team effort by the villagers of Plymtree ensured a very successful and rewarding Fayre. Thank you to all.
