Plymtree Playpark Opening Ceremony

Undaunted by the torrential rain and thunderstorms, the villagers of Plymtree and surrounding area gathered to officially open their new children’s playpark on Saturday 30th April. See an array of photos below.

Funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Changing Spaces programme, Groundwork UK, Heart FM and local fundraising activities the playpark was opened by over 60 children who cut a long red ribbon which had been wrapped around the play equipment.

A village party followed with each child receiving a commemorative badge designed by a local graphic artist (see opposite) and a chocolate egg courtesy of Mole Valley Farmers Ltd, Cullompton and Deosan.

Live music was provided by “The Reds Jazz Band”, whilst the children enjoyed the bouncy castle, inflatable gladiator game and face painter.

The fun continued into the evening with a BBQ and disco.
