Plymtree Parish Council has conferred its first ever tribute of Freewoman of the Parish to a very special resident........ Maggie Palfrey. Villagers turned out in strength on Friday 9th May to attend the Annual Parish Meeting which was held in the Parish Hall .
Chairman of the Parish Council, Andy Cook, said ‘This tribute was agreed unanimously and enthusiastically by the Parish Council. Although it does not confer any special privileges we all felt that this very special woman deserved formal recognition.' Councillor Judith Khaldi read out the citation detailing over 40 years of exceptional service to the community. The Chairman presented Maggie with a parchment scroll declaring her a Freewoman of the Parish and a gift of glassware to mark the occasion.
