First volunteer moves on

Tess, with gifts, at the counter of the Plymtree Community Shop

Tess Barrett had a surprise today (10th November) at the end of her last shift working as a volunteer in Plymtree Community Shop. She was presented with flowers, a gift and a card signed by grateful customers and fellow volunteers. Tess was the very first volunteer to serve customers when the community shop was opened in 2008. Since then she has been a reliable and stalwart worker, also helping new volunteers to learn the ropes. Tess said:

I do hope the shop will carry on for years. I have invested a lot of time and effort in it. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the shop and would recommend it to anyone - it is easier than you may think.

Tess and Jim are leaving the village, but not moving too far away so we hope to see them again. If anyone is moved to fill her shoes then just ask the manager, Paul, and he will explain how it all works.
